Aurora Downtown sponsors and underwrites select events and hosts an array of amazing events throughout the year.
Our 2024 Calendar focuses on promoting our local businesses and beautiful downtown via First Fridays, our annual Food Truck Fest in May to kick off summertime, our Stolp Island Block Party in August before school starts up again, and other events including our Cocoa Crawl and Santa at the Museum.

First Friday of the month
Enjoy art, music, and more as the downtown opens up dozens of venues for all ages to explore.
May 2024 — Food Truck Festival
Be a part of the more than 5,000 visitors and enjoy 30 food truck offerings, music, dancing, and a wonderful summer night 5 pm - 9 pm.
August 2024 — Stolp Island Block Party
You won’t want to miss this party. It’s a tradition. Come join us on the island for a rockin’ end of summertime party.
October 2024 — LUMENAURA New in 2024
The City of Aurora’s first outdoor illuminated art experience features immersive light-and-sound-based installations, magical projection mapping, interactive street art, dazzling live entertainment, a variety of food and beverage options, and more. Visitors are guided along a path throughout downtown Aurora while interacting with free and family-friendly art and sound displays that are unlike anything they have experienced!
October 2024 — Día de los Muertos and Retailers Trick-or-Treat Halloween
Día de los Muertos features dozens of participating businesses offering honoring a cultural and local tradition in Day of the Dead, the beloved Mexican cultural tradition, with Dia de los Muertos art, activities, specials, shopping and more.
Aurora Downtown also offers on Saturday, October 26th “Trick-or-Treat” in Downtown with dozens of participating businesses. The event is free and open to all ages. Costumes are encouraged.
December 2024 — Santa at the Museum
Santa comes to visit in December at the Aurora Regional Fire Museum. Take a photo with Santa Claus! Dec. 7 and Dec. 14 from 1 pm - 3 pm.
December 2024 — Cocoa Crawl
First Fridays in December from 5 to 9 p.m.
Purchase a collectible souvenir mug to join the crawl and taste samples of hot chocolate at participating venues.
