Wyckwood House pops up in downtown Aurora, brings charm and must-have decor

Shannon Gutierrez describes her new part-time shop as “a unique shopping experience featuring goods from local artisans.” Gutierrez, of Aurora, opens Wyckwood House, located at 14 W. Downer Pl. Ste. 16, during downtown events like First Fridays, Blues on the Fox, and Aurora Pride Parade.

Gutierrez started the retail boutique out of her home last year and recently moved it to the former Metropolitan Coworking location in downtown Aurora.

The shop welcomes local artisans – mostly (or all) women to sell their goods at her well-curated boutique. Currently, more than a dozen makers of candles, pottery, baked goods, and more sell their wares at Wyckwood House.

When the downtown location isn’t open, Gutierrez also sets up at the Kane County Flea Market.

She says it was really a dream to have her own shop, and shortly after attending a SCORE small business workshop, it became reality.

Wyckwood House often offers live music as Gutierrez wants to foster a community atmosphere.

Shop Wyckwood this weekend from June 15 to June 17. More here.
