Todd Kessler, Joybird perform as part of Food Truck Festival on May 3

Aurora Downtown announced the music lineup for the May 3 Food Truck Festival on Wednesday.

Todd Kessler headlines this year’s event at 7:30 p.m. at the Millennium Plaza gazebo stage on Stolp Avenue in downtown Aurora.

Fans of NBC’s The Voice might recognize Kessler from being chosen as part of Team Ceelo. Kessler is a folk-rock star in his own right. His solo debut album “About Memory” was well-received and earned the Chicagoland native high praise for being a singer songwriter.

Joybird opens for Kessler at 6 p.m. Joybird is Chicago songwriter, fiddler, and multi-instrumentalist Jess McIntosh. McIntosh will be joined by her band comprised of traditional and improvisational musicians.

Aurora Downtown is excited to continue the tradition of supporting local music at their events. May 3 will begin the nonprofit’s series of free, live music happenings throughout the summer.

The concerts coincide with the fourth annual Food Truck Festival that Aurora Downtown hosts as a free community event along Benton Street from 5 to 10 p.m.

The night is part of First Fridays, in which several venues open to the public for a night of art and culture on the first Friday of the month in downtown Aurora.

There will be dozens of food vendors lined up along the Benton bridges, and live music at Millennium Plaza on Stolp plus a variety of First Fridays activities.
