CALL FOR ART: Train photography for “Aurora Express”

CALL FOR ART

Aurora Express: This year’s holiday window theme is “Aurora Express” – highlighting trains and other modes of transportation from yesteryear to today.

Storefronts are once again hiring artists to paint their windows and do other creative displays.

Aurora Downtown is looking for train photos in downtown Aurora. Trains passing through downtown, as well as at Aurora Transportation Center. Please use TRAIN SAFETY – no photos from the tracks will be considered.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

PHOTOS: Photos should be high-resolution; they will be printed at various sizes and used as part of “Aurora Express,” on social media, and potentially printed ad campaigns. Minimum is printed at 8 x 10. Photos of trains, overpasses, and other train elements in/near downtown are welcome.

SUBMIT: Local artists should submit photos by email to info [at] auroradowntown dot org (see contact info) by November 25. Shared Google Drive links are great if files are large; otherwise jpeg is fine attached to email. Do NOT include watermarks or signatures – photos only.

PAYMENT: Selected photographs will be worth $50 each. Aurora Downtown reserves the rights to use the photo for Aurora Express and future promotions; photographer retains ownership of the photo.

SELECTION PROCESS: Photos will be reviewed by Aurora Downtown staff. Please note Aurora Downtown is currently working on finalizing their best practices to ensure an equitable selection process.

SALE: Photographs will not be for sale. Should they be requested for use as postcards or use for gift items, another arrangement will be made between Aurora Downtown and the artist that is outside of this call for art.
